There are some people who think crate training your dog means putting them in a crate and letting them cry and figure you they cannot escape. This is not training, that is torture. The definition of torture is to “cause intense suffering”. If you don’t think a dog is suffering when you lock them in a crate without proper training then you need to be locked in a crate without knowing if or when you will be let out. Crate training is about changing your dog’s perspective from scared and unknown to; this is my safe place where I get to relax and enjoy a bone or toy.
